Registered Manager – Children's Home (Ofsted, Solo Placement)
Location: Ormskirk, Merseyside
Salary: £65,000
Additional: Ofsted Registration Bonus up to £5,000
Driving Licence: Essential (own vehicle required)
An experienced Registered Manager is required to lead an Ofsted-registered, dual-registered solo occupancy children’s home in Merseyside. This is a key leadership role offering full operational responsibility and the opportunity to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care in a well-supported environment.
The home supports young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Learning Disabilities (LD), and trauma-related needs.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the home in line with Ofsted regulations
- Ensure strong safeguarding, compliance, and risk management practices
- Deliver high-quality, individualised care and placement stability
- Recruit, lead, and develop a small residential care team
- Maintain accurate records and care documentation
- Work closely with local authorities and external professionals
- Create a safe, nurturing, and empowering home environment
- Drive positive outcomes for children and young people
- Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and a values-led approach are essential.
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma (or working towards) in Leadership for Children & Young People
- At least 1 year’s experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s home
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks
- Experience within residential childcare or therapeutic settings
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
