Salary: £39,858 - £42,525 plus pension and many other benefits.
Post: Permanent.
Location: Keighley and Wakefield
Closing Date: 22nd May 2026
Interview date: TBC
At Steps for Tomorrow, we don’t just run children’s homes; we create environments where children feel safe, valued, and are able to rebuild their futures.
We are proud of what we have already achieved. Our home has been recognised for its warmth, the passion of our team, and the genuine care shown to the children who live here. But this is just the beginning.
As we prepare to open additional homes, we are looking for a Deputy Manager who doesn’t just want a job but wants to be part of shaping what comes next.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who:
● Understands that relationships are at the heart of care
● Can balance compassion with professional curiosity and challenge
● Is motivated by doing things the right way, not the easy way
● Wants to grow, develop, and be part of something bigger than one home
Experience in residential childcare and leadership is essential, but just as important is your mindset, values, and ambition.
About the role
This is more than a Deputy position.
You will work alongside a strong, dedicated Registered Manager, reinforcing the day-to-day leadership of the home while also playing a key role in embedding a culture that is consistent, reflective, and always focused on the child.
You will:
● Lead by example, bringing calm, confident, and values-driven leadership
● Support the development of a team that is passionate, skilled, and committed
● Help ensure the home is not only safe and compliant, but warm, nurturing, and aspirational
● Contribute to the continued growth of Steps for Tomorrow as we expand our services
Why join Steps for Tomorrow?
Because this is a place where:
● Your voice matters
● Leadership is visible and supportive
● Quality isn’t a tick-box, it’s how we work every day
● You will be part of a wider vision that connects children’s services, families, and communities
We believe children move through life, not services. And the people who work with us help make that journey safer, stronger, and full of possibility.
Ready to be part of it?
If you are looking for a role where you can lead, grow, and make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
