London Clinic Manager & Clinical Compliance Lead
This is a dual-remit role combining operational ownership of the London clinic with network-wide responsibility for clinical compliance. This person will be accountable for the safe, effective, and high-performing day-to-day running of the London site, while simultaneously leading UK Vein Clinic's approach to CQC compliance and clinical governance standards across all sites.
As a visible and credible leader, they will work closely with the Medical Director, General Manager, Logistics Manager, and clinical teams to embed a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and exceptional patient care. This role requires someone who can operate with both clinical authority and operational pragmatism — leading by example, building capability across the organisation, and ensuring UK Vein Clinic is always inspection-ready.
Part One: London Clinic Manager
The London Clinic Manager holds full accountability for the day-to-day operational running of the London site, delivering outstanding patient experience, strong team performance, and a consistently compliant and efficient clinic environment.
Operations & Performance
• Lead daily clinic operations to ensure a smooth, high-quality care environment
• Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement, reviewing demand, understanding patient needs, and implementing process improvements
• Working with the Logistics Manager to ensure effective site staffing and resource scheduling
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery across all service lines
• Analyse patient feedback, complaints, and failure demand to identify root causes and implement timely remedial actions
• Use insight from patient satisfaction data to continually enhance the experience at the London site
• Support budget management and contribute to workforce optimisation to ensure the site operates sustainably
People & Culture
• Act as a visible and credible leader at the London site, setting the tone for a high-performance, values-led culture
• Lead, manage, and motivate the on-site team in line with UK Vein Clinic's values: patient-obsessed, safe and effective, and kind, fun and caring
• Design and deliver competency-based training programmes and support the ongoing professional development of London site staff
• Liaise regularly with the General Manager and Logistics Manager on performance, staffing, and operational priorities
Part Two: Clinical Compliance Lead (Network-Wide)
As Clinical Compliance Lead, this person is responsible for overseeing and driving CQC compliance and clinical governance standards across UK Vein Clinic's full clinic network. This is a proactive, hands-on role that requires both technical regulatory expertise and the ability to build capability and confidence in teams across multiple sites.
CQC Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
• Oversee CQC compliance across all UK Vein Clinic sites, acting as the organisation's subject matter expert on CQC regulations and standards
• Implement and maintain processes and protocols to ensure compliance with CQC regulations across the clinic network, covering both clinical and non-clinical aspects
• Keep up to date with changes to CQC monitoring frameworks and inspection methodologies, building a deep understanding of the new inspection process and translating this into practical guidance for site teams
• Act as CQC Registered Manager for the London site, and work progressively towards holding registered manager status for additional sites across the network
Inspection Readiness
• Work closely with the Medical Director to prepare clinics for CQC audits and inspections, actively participating in the inspection process and ensuring all documentation and procedures meet CQC requirements
• Design and implement a mock inspection programme, running exercises across sites to identify gaps and embed a culture of inspection readiness
• Ensure all sites maintain comprehensive, up-to-date evidence portfolios that demonstrate compliance with CQC fundamental standards at all times
Incident Management & Governance
• Verify that the incident reporting and investigation process operates effectively across all sites, ensuring all notifiable incidents are recorded, analysed, and that appropriate actions are taken to prevent recurrence
• Manage escalated incidents, complaints, and investigations with clear and timely action planning, ensuring lessons are learned and embedded across the network
• Chair or contribute to governance and risk meetings, maintaining network-level risk registers and ensuring risks are escalated and managed appropriately
• Lead infection prevention and control (IPC) programmes and clinical audit activity, driving continuous improvement in clinical standards across all sites
Staff Training & Capability Building
• Provide guidance and support to staff across all sites on CQC standards, policies, and procedures
• Conduct training sessions to promote understanding of and adherence to regulatory requirements, tailoring content to different roles and sites as needed
• Support site managers and clinical leads in building their own compliance competence, creating a network of informed and empowered local leads
Person Specification
Essential
• Minimum 3 years' management experience in a busy clinical or healthcare environment
• Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager, or substantial working knowledge of CQC registration and standards
• Strong understanding of clinical governance frameworks, including incident management, IPC, audit, and risk
• Proven track record of driving operational performance and delivering measurable results
• Demonstrable experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams across multiple settings
• Experience chairing governance or risk meetings and maintaining risk registers
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with digital operational systems
Desirable
• Experience operating across a multi-site healthcare network
• Experience within a private healthcare or outpatient clinic setting
• Familiarity with vascular or procedural clinic environments
• Experience designing or delivering clinical compliance training programmes
