Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home
Responsibilities
Our client, an established and growing provider of residential children's services, is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to take full responsibility for one of their children's homes in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, child-focused leader to shape a high-performing staff team and drive outstanding outcomes for young people in care.

Responsibilities
- Hold full legal and operational responsibility for the children's home, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
- Lead, manage, and develop a staff team, including rotas, supervisions, appraisals, and ongoing training
- Oversee referrals and admissions, providing planned and supportive inductions for young people
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individual care plans in partnership with the Responsible Individual
- Manage the home's budget responsibly, maintaining accurate financial and statutory records
- Build and maintain effective relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Ensure robust health & safety practices, including risk assessments and COSHH compliance
- Maintain high-quality recording standards that protect young people's dignity and privacy
- Prepare for and contribute to review meetings, ensuring young people's voices are central to the process
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Implement competency, capability, and disciplinary procedures as required
- Support staff recruitment and selection processes
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a residential childcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of child development and safeguarding practices
- Thorough understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Ofsted Quality Standards, Health & Safety legislation, and Equal Opportunities/Anti-Discriminatory Practice
- Proven track record of leading staff teams to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
- Experience in budget management and controlling expenditure
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, including report writing and record keeping
- Full UK driving licence
