Responsibilities
- The Registered Manager will lead the day-to-day operation of the care home, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centered care for all residents.
- This full-time, on-site role is based in Chesterfield and includes managing staffing levels, supervising care teams, and overseeing the implementation of care plans tailored to each individual.
- The role includes responsibility for regulatory compliance, including CQC standards, policies, audits, and timely reporting.
- The Registered Manager will manage budgets and resources, coordinate with external professionals and families, and drive continuous improvement in care delivery and resident experience.
- This position also involves recruiting, training, and developing team members, promoting a positive culture, and handling complex care or safeguarding issues in a professional, compassionate manner.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and management abilities, including team supervision, performance management, and staff development.
- Experience in residential or dementia care settings, with a clear understanding of person-centered and safeguarding practices.
- Knowledge of UK care regulations and quality standards (e.g., CQC requirements, health and safety, risk management).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, staff, and external professionals.
- Proven organizational and administrative skills, including rota planning, record-keeping, and report writing.
- Financial acumen to manage budgets, resources, and occupancy targets in line with organizational goals.
- Relevant health and social care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or equivalent, or willingness to work toward it).
- Ability to handle complex situations with empathy, discretion, and sound judgment, including end-of-life and challenging behaviors.
