Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with clients in their homes or care facilities, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in following their care plans, ensuring that their specific needs are met.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication is advantageous.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
