Registered Manager
Salary: £62,000 – £67,000 DOE
Location: Altrincham, Manchester
Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead the next phase of growth for a fast-growing, clinician-led mental health service, based at our head office in Altrincham, Manchester.
The service delivers adult ADHD and wider neurodevelopmental care to both private and NHS patients.
Duties
- You will hold day-to-day accountability for safety, quality, and patient experience, ensuring services are inspection-ready and aligned with CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led).
- This is a senior leadership role with genuine scope and impact. You will lead clinical governance, build and support high-performing multidisciplinary teams, and use data to drive continuous improvement.
- You will play a key role in mobilising new NHS pathways while strengthening a premium private service, working closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, and a specialist titration team.

Main duties and responsibilities
CQC & Regulatory Leadership
- Act as CQC Registered Manager, ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance
- Maintain and update the Statement of Purpose and evidence bases
- Liaise with the CQC, submit statutory notifications, and represent the service during inspections and audits
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act, CQC Fundamental Standards, and NICE guidance
Clinical Governance & Quality
- Lead governance processes including risk meetings, audits, incidents, complaints, and Duty of Candour
- Implement and oversee safeguarding arrangements for adults and children, acting as Safeguarding Lead
- Ensure compliance with information governance, GDPR, DSPT, and MHSDS submissions
- Conduct monthly audits (prescribing, clinical records, safeguarding, and quality standards)
- Review and update policies, protocols, and clinical pathways
Service Delivery & Operations
- Oversee ADHD and Autism assessment and treatment pathways
- Monitor KPIs relating to safety, outcomes, access, and patient experience
- Ensure NICE-compliant prescribing and medicines management, including e-prescribing and pharmacy liaison
- Maintain accurate clinical, operational, and staff records
People & Leadership
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, appraisal, and CPD for all staff
- Build and sustain high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
- Foster an inclusive, values-led culture focused on quality, equity, and patient-centred care
- Communicate service vision clearly and consistently
Stakeholder & Partnership Working
- Work collaboratively with NHS commissioners, GPs, pharmacies, and external partners
- Support service development, innovation, and expansion
- Manage feedback, complaints, and patient engagement to drive improvement
About the service
The organisation is a clinician-led mental health provider specialising in ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Founded by psychiatrists, the service prioritises personalised, evidence-based care aligned with NICE guidelines, professional standards, and CQC regulations.
The organisation is currently expanding NHS provision and requires a Registered Manager to support and guide this growth from its Manchester office.
Essential
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a CQC-regulated setting, with successful inspection outcomes
- Mental health nursing background or equivalent senior clinical experience
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of ADHD, Autism, and other neurodevelopmental conditions, including diagnostic frameworks (DSM-5 / ICD-11)
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
- Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Experience in service development and NHS pathway mobilisation
- Knowledge of health inequalities and outcomes-focused service delivery
