About the role:
The post holder must demonstrate great quality leadership in residential childcare, evidence that they are able to work with other professionals to plan for and deliver effective individualised placement plans to children placed in their residential children’s home and show ability to reflect on and improve their leadership and management.
The post holder will be committed to working to the principles of Restorative Parenting be excellent communicators able to represent our organisation and practice effectively to a wide range of other professionals and varied agencies.
The post holder must be committed to developing their residential team to ensure sustained and suitably qualified staffing levels are in place. The post holder will have a natural ability to motivate and support their staff team remaining personally available at all times.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring their team members work to achieve personal development plans through training and supervision. The post holder will be supported by ancillary services from within Halliwell.
What the role entails:
The Lead Therapeutic Parent (Registered Manager) is responsible for;
- Showing an ambitious vision, having high expectations for what all children can achieve and ensure high standards of individualised care
- Having a clear understanding of the progress children and young people are making in respect of the plan for them and taking effective action when necessary
- Providing the right supportive environment for staff through effective supervision and appraisal and high-quality induction and training programmes that are tailored to the specific needs of the children and young people
- Knowing and understanding the home’s strengths and weaknesses, prevent shortfalls, identify weaknesses and take decisive and effective action
- Knowing whether the home is achieving its stated aims and objectives
- The quality of professional relationships to ensure the best possible all-round support to children and young people in all areas of their development
- Actively challenging when the responses from other services are not effective
- Promoting tolerance, equality and diversity
- Promoting and utilising children’s views and participation
- Working to organisational KPI’s and Registered Manager KPI’s
- Working with other Heads of Departments and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of childcare standards across Halliwell Homes.
- Their own continual professional development, particularly relating to our clinically informed practice model.
The successful candidate will have the following requirements:
- Valid Right To Work in the UK
- Must hold Manual UK Drivers Licence
- Must hold the Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) qualification or equivalent.
- Extensive experience working in Residential Childcare.
- Extensive experience working as a manager or deputy manager leading shifts and managing rotas.
- Excellent Leadership skills leading successful teams through effective supervision.
- Recognised and relevant management qualification.
- Experience in driving standards of a home to successfully achieve an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
- Managing records and systems for statutory compliance.
- Experience managing budgets and maintaining financial controls.
Contract: Permanent – Full Time based on 40 hours a week (May also be required to complete evenings, weekends, and on-call requirement to support the business needs)
Salary: Starting salary of £57,993 to £64,651 per annum (depending on qualification and experience) + access to homes managers monthly bonus.
