Live-in Care Worker Responsibilities
Bowland Care Services is a family-run business, recruiting live-in care workers to complement the existing team of community support workers in the Garstang area. We are currently expanding our geographical area as demand increases for our exceptional services.
We are recruiting to provide care in the Fylde and Wyre area. The current vacant position is for a live-in care support worker.
The duties for this include:
- Providing personal care and support to clients, including washing, bathing, and toileting, hoisting, and pressure area care.
- Transferring the client using a tracking hoist and slings to support with daily living and pressure area care.
- Providing support with rehabilitation and physiotherapy assistance to maintain and increase movement and muscle tone.
- Providing practical support, carrying out all domestic tasks, including laundry, cleaning, shopping, preparing and cooking meals support with feeding if required.
- Providing medication management and administration, including liaising with other health professionals.
- Accompanying individuals in social activities and assisting in developing and maintaining the social interests of the individual
- Providing specialised care for clients with more complex needs if required.
- Applicants must have care experience, which includes experience in using a variety of moving and handling equipment.
- The applicant must be competent and knowledgeable with safe hoisting and the use of tracking hoists, wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc.
- Applicant must have experience with community home care and or live-in care experience.
- Applicants must be up to date with regulations, training, and care certificates as a minimum.
Qualification
NVQ3 diploma or equivalent qualification in health and social care is desirable.

Successful candidates will be expected to provide care on a 24-hour basis in a well-organised rota of duty. Support workers work anything from 2-day shift patterns up to 7 days on/off to suit each support worker's circumstances. Full on-the-job training and support will be given to the successful candidates welcomed to our friendly professional team.
