ROLE - Care at Home Support Worker - DRIVERS ONLY - Travel pay at £10 per shift
FUNCTION
To provide all aspects of care and support to sustain service users within the community whilst adopting a human rights-based approach and preserving their freedom of choice, independence and dignity.
AREAS COVERED
East Dunbartonshire; Lennoxtown, Milton of Campsie, Kirkintilloch, Falkirk - Banknock, Bonnybridge & Denny
DUTIES
- To be aware of service users' emotional, social and physical needs, reporting back to the Operations Manager
- Provide a short break/respite service whilst the main carer has respite.
- Accompany service users on short social journeys to the cinema, shops, church, etc.
- Provide all aspects of personal care – bathing, toileting and dressing, etc.
- Overnight Support – Waking and Sleepover.
- Assisting with meal provision and ensuring all dietary requirements are maintained.
- Provide a domestic and shopping service to service users.
- Record in the relevant documentation the care that has been delivered contemporaneously. Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated and records to be maintained.
- Assist in our respite service as required.
- Undertake any training deemed necessary by the Learning & Development Manager, i.e. Moving & Assistance, Dementia Awareness, Adult Support & Protection, First Aid, Food Hygiene etc.
- Must be willing to study for vocational training as required by the Care Inspectorate and the Scottish Social Services Council.
- Must be willing to obtain appropriate registration with the SSSC within 6 months of starting employment, and ensure annual payment is made, and PRTL is maintained.
- Assist the service user with medication administration and record appropriately.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and clinical guidelines for self and others.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergencies.
- Any other duties deemed relevant by the Operations Manager / Team Leader/ CEO
