Registered Manager (Residential Family Centre)
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £44,610 - £48,162 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility and participation in an on-call rota
Contract: Permanent
Not For Profit People are recruiting on behalf of a leading women's charity for a Registered Manager to lead a specialist residential family centre supporting mothers and their children.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in their career within a highly specialised residential setting.
The service provides residential support to mothers and their children, including pregnancy stabilisation support and comprehensive parenting assessments. Working within a trauma-informed environment, the team helps families build stability, strengthen parenting capacity and achieve positive outcomes while ensuring the safety and well being of children remains at the heart of all practice
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of a residential family centre.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing and trauma-informed environment for families.
- Lead, supervise and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee parenting assessments and resident support plans.
- Manage service quality, audits, inspections and continuous improvement activity.
- Maintain effective safeguarding processes and risk management practices.
- Manage budgets, resources and occupancy levels.
- Develop positive relationships with families, commissioners, regulators and partner agencies.
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide operational leadership when required
About You
We are looking for a confident and compassionate leader with strong knowledge of residential childcare and regulatory requirements.
You will have:
- A minimum of two years' residential childcare experience within the last five years.
- At least one year of supervisory or management experience.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards it or willing to commence within six months of appointment; alternatively, Social Work England registration or an equivalent relevant professional registration.
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted requirements and residential childcare legislation.
- Experience managing and motivating teams within a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and person-centred support.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to trauma-informed and strengths-based practice
