About us:
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Registered Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our children’s residential home in Plymouth, supporting three young people with learning disabilities and additional complex needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care that is tailored to the individual needs of each young person, promoting positive outcomes, independence, and wellbeing. You will oversee the effective management of the home, maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory and safeguarding standards, and lead a committed team of care professionals to deliver exceptional support.
As a Registered Manager, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. You will work collaboratively with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and education providers to ensure each child receives the highest standard of care and support.
Key Responsibilities
- To maintain a high-quality service working in partnership with colleagues to manage services.
- Ensure the service meets, and indeed exceeds, the requirements of all relevant legislation. Including but not Exclusively the Children’s homes regulations and the SCCIF.
- To ensure the delivery of safe, personalised services to each individual young person through assessment, person centered planning and regular outcome focused reviews of services.
- To manage a large staff team both involved in the management and direct provision of the service
- Produce monthly management reports and attend Senior Management Team Meetings.
- Understanding that the role of an RM is very much the face of the organisation.
- To ensure that staff are trained for their roles and responsibilities and that all groups of staff within the team have access to appropriate training and learning opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential care setting
- Experience in a management role, ideally as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager
- Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and person-centred care practices
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Full UK Driving Licence
